I have read a lot of stories about 221(g) on internet and it seems to be a blackhole in the process because applicants will have no idea how long it will take for them to know the result of the petition. Usually an applicant like me receives 221 (g) letter if the Consulate feels the need to demand additional documents to support petition or if he feels a discrepancy that leads to fraud. I try not to get upset to the Consul for giving me 221(g) because he is not fully familiar with my case and I was unable to provide the answer he needed.
Submission of 221(g) documents:
As demanded, I talked to my fiance, wrote a letter and gathered all my proof of relationship such as photos, remittances, boarding pass and screenshots of chats. I downloaded and printed 221(g) submission slip that can be found in US Travel Docs website. 2GO is the only accredited courier of US Embassy in Philippines so I went to 2GO Ayala branch and brought my 221(g) letter from Embassy, 221(g) submission slip, required documents (proof of relationship and personal letter), my DS-160 and passport (since he gave it all back to me). I payed nothing since expense is shouldered by the Embassy or as I heard it’s included from the visa payment. 2GO will provide an airway bill as receipt and you can use the code for tracking your parcel.
I made sure to I submit my documents couple of days after my interview so my case remain fresh and I get a respond ASAP. I have the theory that if I delay my submission, cases that will undergo same process as me will pile up. Since I submit thursday afternoon, my papers started rolling early friday morning.I admit I started overthinking and doubting if I will get my visa or not. Every now and then we keep on checking CEAC for progress and hell, for days we kept seeing Administrative Processing.

Every morning when my fiancé wakes up, he would check CEAC. After a week, we saw the case was updated from the day it was created. We were excited coz that means our petition was viewed and possibly working again.
Friday Night, November 16 – 10 days after my Embassy interview and 8 days after my 221(g) submission I received a great new! My fiancé sent me photo. We passed!

I do not know how to react honestly! After all the troubles and overthinking, my visa was issued! I can not believe we made it this far and I got our visa finally! Since I have my address written in UsTravelDocs website, 2GO courier was able to deliver my passport and the rest of petition papers.
Some people seek attorney’s help to make the petition while others do it by themselves. What I learned from this journey is
You need to know your partner better – you probably be like what the hell are you talking about Lou? Of course I know my fiance/fiancee, that’s why we are gonna get married. But seriously, you need to get to know them better. If you start getting on to this journey you will start hearing stories of fraud relationship they thought are real!
You need to know yourself better (how much you can take and deal with the process because getting visa is not the end of it.)
Read, read and read! Internet gives you a lot of answers. I’m not saying follow it 100% but use this information for your advantage.
It is an overwhelming roller coaster ride but always worth it. Just keep the love and trust you have for each other! Like what Keith say, everything’s gonna work out just fine!
After you receive your packet, make sure to visit cfo.ph! All Filipinos moving to foreign countries as fiance, spouses or family of foreign national are required to attend a seminar and acquire CFO certificate. On my way now to write my experience visiting their office.
